We are seeking a Compensation Data Analyst to help us analyze, design and deliver compensation programs that support our staff.
As a core member of APL's Human Resources team, you will contribute to our core purpose to build community, ignite talent and partner to enable defining innovations.
As a Compensation Analyst
- Your primary responsibility will be to analyze compensation trends internal and externally. You will administer and develop compensation strategies and programs for the Laboratory, including merit/base pay and bonus pay programs. Your focus will be the exempt technical professional staff compensation approach, while collaborating with other compensation team members administrative professional and non-exempt support staff compensation approaches.
- You will perform market analysis to include completion of salary surveys, develop salary budget recommendations, prepare salary structures and create spreadsheets for annual review process. You will analyze compensation trends and impact to staff and prepare and present compensation program recommendations to all level of staff and leadership.
- You will utilize PayFactors to analyze compensation trends and impact to staff and prepare and present compensation program recommendations to multiple levels of leadership.
- You will consult with supervisors and HR strategic partners in the interpretation and administration of base and bonus compensation programs to ensure alignment with lab strategy and compliance with audit and regulatory goverment.
- You will stay abreast of compensation changes and advise management and others of potential impacts and/or changes that may affect the Laboratory. You may also participate in professional associations to maintain awareness of changing trends in compensation.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qulifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent years of professional experience.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of compensation experience including experience with analyzing HR and compensation data.
- Practical knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis.
- Have analytical aptitude that enables you to extract and analyze data from written material, observation and communications, make statistical calculations, develop reports and systems to facilitate efficient decision-making.
- Are able to work independently or across teams on multiple projects with overlapping time frames and shifting priorities successfully.
- Have strong MS Office with advanced/master Excel skills including formulas, charts, graphs, and pivot tables. Have strong technical skills to work with human resource information system.
- Have analytical ability that enables you to extract and analyze data from written material, observation and communications, make statistical calculations, develop reports and systems to facilitate efficient decision-making.
- Can think proactively, identify problems and solutions, and exhibit a high-level of self-initiative.
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with all levels of staff and supervisors.
- Are skilled in demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication and presentation.
